In our house we are not likely to turn on the TV until around 8 at night.
This is because we all have busy schedules and it just seems to be a distraction; Even turning on the news in the day makes the kids stop and look at the TV rather than get ready for school so we made it a rule not to watch it until the end of our day. This allows most people to focus on the task at hand such as work, school assignments, and extravagant family time. The concern comes when we are in the late fall or early Spring time and we do not watch the weather forecast. Occasionally this makes it difficult to plan the day as far as how to dress and what to set the HVAC system for for the day. There were 10 afternoons where we left the heat on when we were leaving for the day and it ended up that we honestly did not need it because the temperature warmed enough. My friend and I felt that we were wasting currency so we decided to invest in a smart control component that we could use to check on the household throughout the day. My partner logs on to the local weather forecast during his dinner cut and then adjusts the HVAC system accordingly due to what he found out. Although the smart control component was a bit overpriced to have installed, it has saved us that much plus much more because we are no longer wasting currency on heating or cooling the household when it is not needed. My friend and I can even lower the temperature when the household is unoccupied and raise it up about an hour before we get home, saving us more currency as well.
