Zone controlled heating at the adult table

Zone controlled heating at the adult table

When I was growing up, I remember thanksgivings being extremely fun.

  • All of the cousins were gathered together at one table, completely separate from the adults.

This is where all of the shenanigans and fun happened. We were always making fun of each other and the adults, poking at our food, and making logistical plans for maximizing dessert time. I really loved these early experiences with my young family members. As I got older, Thanksgiving changed a lot. My cousin started having their own kids and bringing their significant others to the holiday festival. The kids table stop seeming so fun, and I actually started to envy the adult table at some point. Not only did they have the best food and many bottles of wine, but they also had the best heating set up. At the kids table, we were at the mercy of indoor heating provided by a traditional forced air furnace. The air felt unevenly hot and cold most of the time, and there were always chili drafts blowing in from the sliding glass door. Meanwhile, over at the adult table, they were living the life of extreme heating luxury. Not only did they utilize the forced air furnace like the rest of us, but my grandma had installed radiant heated flooring beneath their dining room table. They could sit there for hours, eating turkey, drinking wine, and enjoying the toasty heat on their toes. At the same time, I had to deal with screaming brats and freezing cold drafts. No amount of wine could fix my miserable holiday at that point.
