Lectured by the HVAC tech for wear and tear

Sometimes I feel like supposed professionals have no idea what they’re really doing. Maybe they have technical skills under their belts but they are missing some aspect of their service title that requires them to be personable and easy to get along with. This is definitely the case whenever I visit a high tech store. It seems like all of the salesmen are eager to talk to me and to sell me devices but they are not enjoyable to converse with. Instead, they do everything they can to make me feel like I am a complete idiot. This is not good customer service if you want to know my honest opinion. That’s why I was very put off the other day when my heating, cooling, and air quality control specialist decided to sit me down and lecture me. I had called my normal air quality control dealership several weeks ago to arrange my usual central heating, cooling, and ventilation maintenance appointment for this fall. I knew that my indoor air handling devices were going to need a lot of work this time after all of the abuse that I put my thermostat through all summer. It had been a very hot and humid couple of months and there was no doubt that my air conditioning unit was feeling all of the strenuous activity. However, I don’t think that this necessitated my central heating, cooling, and air quality control specialist to have a mini intervention with me. He actually lectured me for over 20 minutes about the merits of thermostat programming and energy efficient eco settings. By the time he was done scolding me for the wear and tear on my air conditioning system I had hired a new HVAC company.
