My parents are in the process of selling their household and need to make some improvements before they can put it on the market.
The problem is, my siblings want them to replace the Heating, Ventilation, and A/C system. My dad thinks that the old system is fine and that it should be the responsibility of the modern clients to do that if they choose. My buddy and I have tried to tell them that they can get a better price for the condo with a newer and more efficient heating and cooling system but he just won’t listen to reason. I am the one that is stuck in the middle of the debate because I can relate to both sides of the argument. I feel for my parents because they are elderly and just want to sell the condo and transfer on. My siblings feel that if they get more for the condo they will have more resources to live off of in the end. Both of them are easily valid reasons and I just want everyone to be cheerful. I have even spoken with the local Heating, Ventilation, and A/C dealers and gotten estimates for my parents so that when the time comes they will be able to make an informed decision, and knowing all the facts is crucial, especially when you are trying to get dad to put any more currency into a condo that he is leaving. Mom says she doesn’t care either way she will just be blissful to sell the place and transfer on. It is way too much labor for them at this point and she just wants to be able to do the things she wants to do instead of worrying about it.
