When you are a young child, there aren’t really more than 2 ways to make currency, although I worked hard to always have some source of income as a young girl.
- My parents didn’t have a lot of currency when we youngsters were young, so if we ever wanted a new toy or some candy from the general store, we had to somehow come up with the currency on our own, however during the summers, my siblings in addition to I would mow lawns for our neighbors in addition to elderly people in our church.
During the Springtime in addition to fall, we would wipe people’s yards. Wintertime was usually the hardest toil because we had to shovel snow. As a young skinny kid, shoveling driveways in addition to sidewalks all day long would wear me out. Many people saw how hard we worked though, in addition to they would pay us even more than what we were expecting. I can remember just one thing that would get me through those long freezing days of shoveling, in addition to that was going house to a hot house. I would day dream about sitting by the heating vents as the hot air blew into my face. Although it may seem unusual to others, it entirely helped me get through those freezing days. My Dad knew that as soon as my siblings in addition to I got house from a day’s toil all we wanted was a hot house in addition to a cup of hot chocolate. Although those were unbelievable days, I am so blissful that the task I toil now allows me to stay inside a hot office all day.
