There is nothing like being the maid of honor at your best friend’s wedding. I was overjoyed but not surprised when my childhood best friend, Corry, asked me to be her maid of honor, but she had so much to plan for, and I was able to be there every step of the way. I helped her pick out the bridesmaid’s dresses plus her easily own gown. I’m not absolutely sure if she was more excited about her wedding or if I was. I didn’t sleep at all the night before the ceremony because I was just too excited. The decorations turned out attractive, and everything was ready to go by ten o’clock even though the wedding didn’t start until five o’clock. My nice friend and I were hit with some shocking news around two o’clock while getting ready. The heat in the auditorium wasn’t working. They were calling an Heating and A/C business as they told us the information, but it was still easily disturbing… Poor Corry was so anxious that not having heat would ruin her special day. The Heating and A/C business wasn’t able to get to the church until four o’clock just an hour before the ceremony was supposed to begin, corry sent out a big group text to all the people she could believe of to warn them to wear extra layers and to keep their coats on when they came in because there was no heat in the auditorium. The guests arrived and the ceremony began without any heat. It wasn’t until the reception started that the Heating and A/C business was able to get the heater working once again. Thankfully, pretty much everyone was able to stay hot enough, and my pal and I can all look back on that silly day and love the wonderful memories.
