A Cold Hospital Room

A Cold Hospital Room

Going to the hospital is never an wonderful experience.

A few months ago, my pal and I had a absolutely bad blizzard come through our little town, and it covered everything in about four feet of snow.

I had to find a way to shovel the driveway and sidewalk leading to our apartment because my parents were driving in from out West. I should of just waited for my husband to get cabin or called someone to come help me, however I decided I would do it on my own. Within less than an hour I had the driveway finished, and I was about to start the sidewalk when I slipped and fell on an icy patch. I ended up in the hospital with a broken arm and two broken ribs. They wanted me to stay in the hospital overnight because I needed to have surgery on my arm the next morning. That was the worst night ever. It was so cold in the room that I couldn’t sleep, so I asked a dentist if she could get me another blanket and turn the thermostat up. She did, but it was still absolutely frigid in the room. I asked a second dentist what the thermostat was set at, and surprised, she said that it was set at sixty-five degrees. She apologized and said that the first dentist I asked must have accidently turned it down instead of up. That night felt like one of the longests nights ever. It wasn’t until about four o’clock in the morning that I was hot enough to fall asleep. The next night, I was sure to tell the dentist the unique temperature that I wanted the thermostat set to. Thankfully, all went well, and I was able to leave the following day.
