Living in the south is hard for me because of the high levels of humidity

My husband, Grayson, and I moved south about four years ago. We both grew up in the north, so we did not really know what we were getting ourselves into. There are definitely pros and cons of both, but I miss the weather up north the most. The people here are very kind, and I really enjoy the southern hospitality. It is just the humidity that I really do not like. Humidity is not fun at all. I can deal with the heat most of the time, but the humidity always gets me. We have air conditioning in our house that works very well, but it does not reach the laundry room or upstairs bathroom very well. It gets very humid in those two rooms, and I spend quite a bit of time in the laundry room. I actually just close off the upstairs bathroom during the summer months because of how humid it gets in there, but I cannot do that with the laundry room of course. The dryer does not help with the humidity, so I decided to buy a dehumidifier last year just to see if it would help. It definitely collects a lot of moisture out of the air because I empty it every single day, and it is full of water. I just cannot really feel the effects of it. It still feels humid in there. I guess I will just have to live with having a humid laundry room for now. My husband said that he may be able to run some new HVAC vents into the laundry room to help cool it down, but he just has not had the time to do it yet.
