I don’t know how this happened, but I became the neighborhood veterinarian at some point.
Every time an animal shows up at somebody’s door they walk right over and hand it off to meet you.
I love that I have such a nurturing and caring reputation around town, but I don’t know if I can keep up with all of these assorted animals. I already had my own three dogs and two cats, and with all of these added mouths to feed I’m getting a little low in the financial department. I really want to continue to help these stray animals, but I also need to continue to have a place for us to live. Additionally, I need the place where we live to be healthy and comfortable. This means that I need to upgrade my HVAC units immediately. When people talk about becoming an animal whisperer, they rarely talk about the added expenses of operating your indoor central heating and cooling system 24/7 to keep your pets comfortable. In fact, nobody ever mentioned the thermostat or indoor air quality when I was getting my pre-veterinary degree. Had I known that this was going to be such a huge problem, I could have set money aside to get my air temperature control equipment up to snuff before I wound up with five new Fluffy’s in my room. Now, my indoor air is full of animal dander and clumps of hair that are floating through the air. They ride the waves from the air vents across the rooms. I desperately need to get my entire HVAC system upgraded and to have the air ducts cleaned out, but with all of this pet food I am running really low on the funding that I need. That’s why you’re welcome to contribute to my new GoFundMe. Help me clean up these stinky animals and get a working HVAC unit.
