A few months ago a friend of mine proposed that we take some time off of work and jog off into the mountains for a fun cabin retreat.
I thought that was a really great idea, because I could use a break from the daily monotony of working nine-to-five.
I was definitely in the mood for some adventure and a vacation from city life. The only problem was, the proposed dates for our mini vacation were later in the year than I would prefer. Personally, I’m not a big fan of cold weather and I was nervous that we would take an expensive trip that I couldn’t enjoy. We looked on Airbnb for quite a while before finding the best and most affordable cabin. The little house promised that it had all the most modern amenities. It wasn’t going to be a very rough camping trip, because the home was equipped with smart appliances ranging from Alexa to a Smart thermostat system. They had radiant heated flooring installed throughout the entire cabin, and there were separate temperature controls throughout every bedroom. This month, we could easily set two different air temperatures around the entire cabin. Besides the smart thermostat and radiant heated floors, that the owners of this property had the foresight to install a high-tech electric fireplace. This cool alternative heating system accurately set and maintained the room temperature with a fake, gas powered flame. I was absolutely in love with the entire heating set up. It’s a good thing, too, because the outdoor air temperature plummeted just before our trip. While my friend enjoyed many of the beautiful views from the deck, I spent the entire vacation enjoying the upgraded heating system.
