I’m pretty satisfied with how this cookie has crumbled.
A year ago, I never would have imagined that this is where I would be sitting 12 months down the line.
Literally, everything that has happened to me has been unexpected. I’m happy to say, after leaving my old life behind, I have found new friends and roommates to rely on. I feared I was never going to make new friends, so it feels like a blessing to have compatible souls around me. The one thing that we don’t see eye-to-eye on, however, is our eating habits. My roomies are obsessed with eating, and it takes a toll on our appliances. For instance, they are constantly challenging the refrigerator’s cooling system by leaving the door open and forcing the machine to lower the interior temperature several times an hour. They run the ventilation fan in the kitchen all the time because of their smokey cooking habits. When they’re cooking a meal, the HVAC system is working triple time to keep up with the hot air they pump into the house through our gas stove. Half the time, they open the windows for more air ventilation,so our AC unit can work especially hard to cool an unsealed house. Worst of all, my roomie recently got into grilling in the backyard. He obsessively checks his meat, leaving the door open every time, so now our expensive indoor air is constantly floating straight out the door. When the energy bill rolls around, they better not have a problem ponying up their portion of the electricity costs. I know how much they spend on groceries.
