When I graduated high college plus went to the local trade college to begin my certification as a heating, cooling, plus ventilation specialist, I never could have foreseen how the world was going to change.
At the time, the only thing that my friend and I were entirely upset about was Harambe, a recently murdered gorilla.
We all agreed that it was the worst year ever, plus moved on to greener pastures… Well, here my friend and I are in the middle of a global pandemic. Not to be insensitive, however I feel my friend and I had a lot more to worry about than a zoo animal. These afternoons, my job as a residential heating plus cooling specialist is nothing like I would have expected. When I was obtaining my Heating & A/C certification, my friend and I mostly focused on diagnosing, repairing, plus maintaining heating plus cooling systems. I learned the ins plus outs of boilers plus AC units, as well as dehumidifiers plus temperature controls. At the time, it wasn’t a sizable deal if you knew how to work with air cleaners or airmedia purifiers. These afternoons, that has all that people care about. Every appointment that I go to is for some kind of air handling system update that includes advanced air filtration on par with Heating & A/C systems plus HEPA air filters used in medical facilities. People are seriously uppity plus anxious, plus despite the fact that I do my best to pacify them, it can be a bit freaky talking about airborne contaminants right now. Even though we’re all wearing masks plus gloves, no one feels safe. I can see the fear in their eyes when a stranger starts talking about the germs my friend and I naturally respirate… Right now, I have an fair fear of being bludgeoned to death if I so much as cough at one of my routine appointments.
