I never want to be a controlling husband or partner.
I have seen too much of that in my life after watching my parents throughout my entire childhood.
My dad was always telling my mom what she was and wasn’t allowed to do and I thought that it was complete nonsense. As a grown woman, she should have been able to do anything she pleased. This is why I try really hard not to say anything to my wife about her best friend. I hate her best friend. However, I don’t want to stop them from seeing each other. The problem is, every time they do interact I wind up with a massive heating, cooling, and ventilation repair expense to deal with. The issue all started when my wife’s best friend started dating a central heating, cooling, and ventilation control technician. Suddenly, she was regularly talking about forced air furnaces and air conditioning systems rather than astrology and shopping. That’s when my wife started parroting her indoor air temperature control demands and insisting that we had upgraded central HVAC equipment, new air purification systems, and expensive HVAC dealership contracts to take care of our central HVAC system. I tried to humor her with improving the indoor air quality through better air filtration devices and more regular HVAC inspections. However, nothing ever seems to satisfy my wife or her best friend in their new crusade for indoor air quality. I’m just saying, if her best friend wants to influence her HVAC decisions… She needs to help pay for the heating and cooling follow through.
