You could say that I grew up in a godless household.
- My parents followed no identifiable religious system or ever forced us to attend any kind of worship service.
In general, I’m delighted that I was not pushed into the box created by religion. However, from time to time I wish that I had more scripture ammo on my side when people started getting strangely judgmental with me, then living in the South, I often encounter people with rather radical Christian beliefs, but unfortunately, this can happen someplace, from the grocery store to the comfort of my own house. I found this out the hard way last year when even my central heating, cooling, and ventilation control specialist had something to say about my life of sin. Namely, that my lack of Christian values was the cause of my central heating, cooling, and ventilation component breakdown. If you are unsure how Christianity is connected to heating and cooling equipment, that makes two of us. The problem all started when my air conditioner component wasn’t responding properly to my control component setting fluctuations… Every time I adjusted the indoor air temperature lower my A/C component made a terrible sound before it stopped pumping any cool indoor air through the vents whatsoever. I called out my local Heating, Ventilation, and A/C repair shop and asked for an emergency Heating, Ventilation, and A/C inspection. When the heating and cooling specialist arrived he had a peculiar look on his face. He could not get out of the condo quick enough to inspect the air conditioner unit. When the A/C repair was done he reported back with the bill in hand… And just had to mention that my lack of religious insignia couldn’t be helping my indoor air quality.
