My parents are in the process of selling their home and need to make some improvements before they can put it on the market. The problem is, my siblings want them to replace the Heating, Ventilation, and A/C system. My Mom thinks that the old system is good and that it should be the responsibility of the new buyers to do that if they choose. My good friend and I have tried to tell them that they can get a better price for the home with a newer and more efficient heating and cooling system but he just will not listen to reason. I am the one that is stuck in the middle of the debate because I can relate to both sides of the fight. I feel for my parents because they are elderly and just want to sell the home and move on. My siblings feel that if they get more for the home they will have more resources to live off of in the end. Both of them are genuinely valid reasons and I just want all the people to be glad. I have even spoken with the local Heating, Ventilation, and A/C dealers and gotten estimates for my parents so that when the time comes they will be able to make an informed decision, and knowing all the facts is pressing, especially when you are trying to get Mom to put any more cash into a home that he is leaving. Mom says he doesn’t care either way he will just be glad to sell the place and move on. It is way too much work for them at this point and he just wants to be able to do the things he wants to do instead of worrying about it.
