My siblings and I grew up enjoying the California coast and all that came with it.
- My buddy and I spent time at the beach almost year-round and seldom sad about any sort of winter season weather, when I was in my junior year at private school our parents announced that my pal and I needed to transfer up to the Northeast and my pal and I were all aggravated about that.
The Northeast is attractive however the weather is entirely not conducive to spending time outside year round unless you like colder weather. Most days are rainy and damn and my pal and I had to make some extreme lifestyle variations when making the move. The greatest change for me was learning to deal with being chilly all the time. In the Northeast the summers are easily short and it seems that chilly damp weather is normal for 3/4 of the year. I had to learn to like indoor activities where the heat was on and I could stay warm and dry. There was one athletic activity however that I learned to enjoy and that was snowshoeing. I could take you to another beauty of the outdoors and enjoy the peace and quiet that came along with it. I would not spend much time out there because I still did not like being cold… At least it provided me a bit of outdoor activity during long chilly months. The other benefit to living in the Northeast is that my parents are easily cheerful and in the long run I know that is all that matters. They moved us here to be closer to our Grandparents who at the time entirely needed more assistance and it allowed us to become better acquainted with them as well.
