My brother is a pretty handy guy and handles most of his house repairs himself.
I feel it is honestly cool that he is brave enough to tackle just about anything and wish I had his mechanical ability.
The only fault he has is that he fails to read all the instruction prior to starting a project. If he orders something that needs to be assembled he just takes out all the parts and starts putting it together regardless of the order. This has led to quite a bit of frustration over the years. His latest thing that he messed up was the replacement of his new Smart Thermostat. He went out and obtained one from the local hardware store and didn’t bother to see if it would even toil with his system. Once he got it house he detached the old one, wired the new one, and then got frustrated that it wouldn’t respond to the HVAC system or the Wi-Fi. He called for tech support and they said that he should have obtained a odd model. He then had to remove it and return it to the store. When he told me of his tale of trouble I requested that he contact his local HVAC business and have them come out to install one. They not only have professionals trained to do the job but they also carry the ones that will toil with your system. Wasting your time and currency on things that will not toil for you is senseless, especially when there are trained professionals out there to help you every step of the way.
